18 Unique Courses You Can Auctually Study In US

Business administration, marketing, computer science – so pedestrian! Now, if you’re looking to take some really offbeat & fun college courses in the U.S. that’ll set you apart from the crowd, then how about giving one of these majors a go?
1. Auctioneering Going once…going twice…and sold to anyone who wants to learn how to be a professional auctioneer! How on Earth do they talk so fast? Well, I guess if I want to know the answer to that question, then I’ll need to enroll in the Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania. They offer a course called Auctioneering that teaches you everything there is to know about the trade. Like learning how to obtain and appraise items correctly, working with buyers and sellers at every stage, the technical aspects, and, of course, chanting like a pro! (That’s what the fast talking is called.)
2. Canadian Studies Ah, my quiet friendly neighbor to the North – a real mystery to many people in the world and even here in the States! What’s their history, their culture? What do they do up there anyway, and what’s with the funny accent, eh? If this is something that has always fascinated you, then how about majoring in Canadian Studies at Duke University in North Carolina? And, hey, if you’re a Canadian studying in the US, I bet you’ll ace this class with flying colors! What an easy “A”, eh?
3. Ethical Hacking Oh, an oxymoron perhaps. Apparently, hacking isn’t a self-taught trade or something you can just google. I always imagined it like they show in the movies – you just start tapping on your keyboard very fast with an evil look of determination on your face, sitting there in your parents’ basement. …But looks like I could learn a thing or two from this course. So, Dakota State University offers the Ethical Hacking Graduate Certificate, where they’ll teach you all the tricks to exploit weaknesses and vulnerabilities in a wide range of technological systems. You’ll be known as an ethical or ‘white hat hacker’ as opposed to the bad guys we see in movies who hack into systems to steal money. Those kinds are known as a malicious or ‘black hat hacker’. You’ll basically be doing what those criminals do, but you’d do it for the right reasons as one of the ultimate security professionals in the world. Ah, so, hacking, but with principles!
4. Astrobiology So, if biology is the study of living organisms and astro means space, then it must be a course focusing on the study of aliens! Ok, maybe not exactly, but if you major in Astrobiology, you’ll learn about the search for planets beyond our solar system, the origin and evolution of life on earth, and the sustainability of life in extreme environments. Just think, you might be the first person to communicate with extra-terrestrial life! Or at least find some amoeba on Mars or something…
5. Entertainment Engineering and Design Studying the science of fun, sign me up! Why am I not surprised this course is given at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas? Any-who, getting a degree in Entertainment Engineering and Design will give you a better understanding of the art (and business!) of entertainment. You can learn the science of putting on an awesome light show, designing arenas, sound engineering, and even the legal, social, and safety aspects of the business. Have to appreciate the pros behind your good time in Vegas!
6. Bowling Industry Management and Technology Speaking of having a good time, ever wanted to run your own bowling alley? Hey, you can’t break anything there! How about learning more about all that behind-the-scenes tech? Automatic pinsetters really are the best thing since sliced bread… Anyway, this course at Vincennes University in Indiana will really knock your pins down!
7. Wasting Time on the Internet What better field of study to take when enrolling at a prestigious and historic Ivy League school like the University of Pennsylvania? If you’re hoping that your time in this class will be spent looking at memes and cat videos, then I’ve got great news – that’s exactly what you do! Ok, the Wasting Time on the Internet course does get a little deeper than that, delving into “the long history of the recuperation of boredom” and asking questions like “Could we reconstruct our autobiography using only Facebook?” yeah…
8. Family Enterprise For all the students who are planning to run the family business after you graduate, you might want to major in Family Enterprise Management. The course is pretty much like Business Administration, but with a focus on, wait for it, family businesses! I guess there’s a different science to it?
9. Nannying – ooh, that sounds like a goat: nnnnNannying. I’m sure any parent would feel more comfortable hiring a pro in childcare that knows how to provide their kids with a safe environment. I mean, no offense to all the 17-year-old nieces out there who are just looking for a summer job – I’m sure you’re a great babysitter! Just don’t be surprised if a professional nanny with a degree gets that gig over you!
10. Harry Potter So you might not be able to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but Central Michigan University has a great wizarding program too! Ok, you won’t study magic or anything, but you will learn everything you need to know about Harry Potter and the rest of the wizarding world. This is a very immersive course, as you’ll even get a chance to travel to the UK and follow Harry’s footsteps! The course is called “To Hogwarts: An intensive study of Harry Potter through the British Isles” just in case you’re interested!
11. The Art of Language Invention Excuse me, do you speak Dothraki? What about High Valyrian? How do I even know if I said those right? Well, if you’re interested in how linguist David Peterson came up with the languages spoken in the hit TV show Game of Thrones, then this one’s for you! The full name of the course is The Linguistics of Game of Thrones and the Art of Language Invention, and it was given at Berkley in the summer of 2017 and taught by Peterson himself! Ah, shucks, missed the boat on that one. But, hey, any Lord of the Rings fans out there who always dreamed of speaking Elvish can still take Quenya and Sindarin at the University of Wisconsin! Forgive me if I mispronounced those as well. I slept through my Elvish class…
12. Blacksmithing Finishing the Metalsmithing and Blacksmithing program at Southern Illinois University won’t have you winning medieval sword fights or anything. But you would be proficient in the art of working with and creating things using metal! You could then pursue a career in academia, museum work, or you could become an independent artist. Or maybe shoe a horse or two.
13. Nautical Archeology Have you ever wished you could be a mermaid and live in an underwater castle like Ariel – and finally master using a digglehopper or the snarfblatt? Um, sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s not possible. I can, however, give you a close second alternative. By studying Nautical Archeology, you’ll be able to don your diving suit and search for lost underwater artifacts of ancient civilizations and explore shipwrecks. So, you’re basically an archeologist, only with flippers!
14. Floral Management Hey, somebody has make those beautiful bouquets that brighten every bride’s big day! (Or act as a peace offering for fellas in the doghouse!) Oh, and can’t forget about putting a smile on mom’s face for Mother’s Day! Anyway, a degree in Floral Management will give you a wide variety of career options, including freelance floral designing, garden design and management, media design and styling, as well as wedding and bridal design planning.
15. Bakery Science I don’t know about flowers and all, but I love the smell of my local bakery first thing in the morning! Those of you who spend hours in the kitchen baking cookies, cakes, and pastries that get gobbled up within seconds, a course in Bakery Science could turn you into a real pro!
16. Adventure Education Yes, adrenaline junkies, there’s a unique course for you too! From white water rafting, rock climbing, wilderness exploration, and tons of other adventurous activities, Plymouth State University has you covered. I don’t imagine couch potatoes will be very interested in this field, but I’ve got a little something for you too…
17. Popular Culture Reality TV, celebrities, music, magazines – these are all elements of pop culture, and Bowling Green State University has a whole department dedicated to it. But it’s not just about sitting in class and reading about the latest celebrity scandals. No no. The program delves into the influence pop culture has on society. And with a major or minor in this unique field, you can then go into journalism, advertising, and mass media to name a few!
18. Wildlife And finally, if you’ve always felt a particular connection to Ace Ventura, you might consider taking this Wildlife course at Humboldt State University. It’s basically the science of studying and working with animals, and you can then find an exciting career in a variety of fields. From becoming a game warden to a zookeeper, the possibilities for you animal lovers are endless! So Bosco, now it’s your turn. Which of these courses would you want to study? Let me know down in the comments. If you learned something new today, then give this video a like and share it with a friend. But – hey! – don’t go enrolling in the Harry Potter Class just yet – though it sounds kind of fun! We have Many cool posts for you.

Everyone Uses Escalators Wrong All the Time

So every morning I feel as if I'm trying to accomplish a particularly tricky quest.Wrestle out of the packed subway car - done.Avoid getting lost and carried away by the crowd - done.Reach the escalator and join the gridlock at the entrance - done.At least all the commuters are following the common escalator rule: stand on the rightside, walk on the left. After all, it's the most effective way to use an escalator, right?Actually, it’s wrong!Wait, what? But this practice makes perfect sense: you can always choose whether you want to relaxand let the machinery do all the work or save time and walk up!Well, let me break it to you: it turns out that we've been using escalators inefficientlyall this time.A 2011 study from the University of Greenwich figured out that while 75% of people chooseto stand on escalators, only 25% walk up.It means that half of the escalator is serving just one-quarter of commuters.Besides, there are more gaps on the walking side of the escalator than on the side wherepeople stand. In 2015, the London Underground started a three-week trial of a revolutionary approachto using escalators. They chose the Holborn Tube Station, which is a busy transfer station, with 56 millionpeople passing through every year.Employees of Transport for London asked commuters not to walk on the escalators. You might guess that asking politely wouldn't work in a crowd of people desperate to getto work. That's why the employees used megaphones and even blocked walking traffic. On top of that, they asked people traveling together to stand next to each other on theescalators. As for couples, they were encouraged to hold hands to serve as a live fence and preventothers from passing. The organizers of the experiment were astonished to find out that the method worked even betterthan they had predicted.See for yourself: during the morning rush hour between 08:30 to 09:30, the average escalatorused to transport about 12,750 people. But during the trial period of standing rules, the same escalator moved 16,220 people! Plus, according to the researchers, the congestion at the entrance of the escalators was reducedby almost 30%!But if you think that the trials were going smoothly and painlessly, think again.Imagine that you're in a hurry to catch your train or to get to your work place, and suddenly you're told to hold your horses and stand still!Wouldn't you rebel?Well, the commuters who unwittingly participated in the experiment did.People kept pushing each other, shouting, and arguing. It seems that the problem lies in human nature: we want the result right away and are unwillingto postpone it in the interest of the greater good.On the one hand, it makes sense that the more commuters to get on an escalator at once, the smaller the bottleneck at the entrance will be.Therefore, your ride will take less time. But for escalator walkers, it sounds counter-intuitive and doesn't feel like a worthy trade-off.Interestingly, people didn't feel all that indignant about the new rule on longer escalators. On such escalators, commuters already preferred to stand on the walking side rather than move.First, the distance is too long to climb.Secondly, escalator stairs are wider and higher than your ordinary stairs, and you need tospend more energy to get to the top.But is the time difference between walking and standing really that great? Not at all!Researchers from Capgemini Consulting timed themselves while standing vs. walking on escalatorsat the Green Park Station in London. It turned out that it took a commuter 26 seconds to walk to the top of the moving escalatorand 40 seconds to get there while standing still. At the same time, the total time people had to spend standing in line at the entranceof the escalator and then riding it became significantly shorter if commuters were standingon the escalator side by side. So, if 40% of people walked on the escalator, the average time for the walkers was 46 secondsand for the standers 138 seconds. But if all the people stood, the average time for everyone was 59 seconds. As you see, the walkers had to spend 13 seconds longer on the escalator, but for the standers,it was a serious 79-second improvement. As for the line at the entrance of the escalator, instead of 73 people, it dropped to 24.But there’s another argument for why people should stand on escalators side by side. When most commuters stand on the right (or on the left, depending on the country), theweight on the stairs gets distributed unevenly. As a result, one side of the escalator experiences a much greater strain than the other. It leads to an increased risk of the escalator breaking down, which, in turn, may lead tosome nasty accidents.By the way, since we've started to talk about dangers and risks, walking is the main causeof escalator injuries. With all the benefits of standing on escalators, why is it so difficult to get people to followthis new rule? The problem is that most commuters, especially Americans, prefer to keep a bigger distancebetween themselves and others.Have you ever seen people putting their bags next to them on buses or trains so that nobodycan join them?Right, that's what I'm talking about. The average American likes to have at least 1 and 1/2 ft (0.45 m) of personal space separatingthem from other people.Naturally, when you stand on an escalator, this distance is much smaller. It makes people feel uncomfortable, and some of them choose to walk to avoid the risk ofa stranger invading their personal space. On top of that, the 'walking on the one side, standing on the other' rule is deeply ingrainedin people's minds. At the times when cities were becoming more crowded, the rhythm of life was also gettingmore hectic.People needed to get from one place to another as fast as possible, and that's when the walking-standingsplit became the norm. And here we are now.Anyway, the idea of all commuters standing on escalators side by side sounds reasonable. But there are also a lot of experts who are sure that walking on escalators is still amuch safer and better way to get to your goal.First of all, when all the commuters stand next to each other in two lines, it puts additionalweight on the escalator. As a result, it may start to break down or wear out much faster, which may lead to dangerousaccidents. The supporters of the 'everybody-walks' idea also say that if nobody was standing on thestairs and everybody was moving, there would be no gridlocks at all.Well, although reasonable, this advice doesn't sound like fun when you're returning fromthe airport with a heavy suitcase.Another argument in favor of walking on the escalator is that when you move, you pay moreattention to your surroundings. Thus, you may notice that something's gone amiss and avoid an accident. And finally, they say that walking up the stairs is healthy and counts as doing physicalexercise.Hey I like anything that counts towards something, don’t you?So, what’s your opinion on the matter?Do you use your escalator time to watch cat videos or make your legs fitter?Sound off in the comments.

That’s How Internet Advertisers Read Your Mind

Isn't it annoying how targeted ads haunt  you wherever you go and whatever you do?  As for me, I usually filter them in my mind,  not paying attention to what they say, but  some time ago they really started giving me  the creeps.  So I decided to investigate the issue and  I actually found some disturbing stuff.  I hope the results of my inquiry will help  you too.  You see, like everyone else, I'm used to  getting targeted ads in my browser after each  and every search session.  That's not really surprising: after all,  I'm spilling all the beans myself  if  I need a new ironing board, for instance,  the first thing I do is go search where I  can find one.  Ads go crazy after that, suggesting companies  I've never heard of and offering best  deals ever.  And that's okay, that's how they work.  But not so long ago, I accidentally left an  empty pan on the hot stove and went to work.  It was a miracle that my apartment didn't  burn up, but the pan was beyond saving, of  course.  I told my girlfriend about this accident when  she came over that night, and made a mental  note to buy a new pan.  The next morning, when I opened the browser  on my phone, the first thing I saw was an  ad of some kitchen utensil store brandishing  a thumbnail¦ with a pan in it.  To say I was dumbfounded would be a huge understatement.  I hadn't searched the web for a new pan  yet; I didn't mention anything about my  mishap on Facebook or Twitter or any other  social media; heck, I didn't even call anyone!  All I did was tell my girlfriend, and that  was it.  How in the world could my phone know I needed  a new pan?!  I admit, at first I thought it was just a  crazy coincidence.  But then I started noticing this happening  more often.  I would talk about a coming business trip  with my friends, and then my browser would  pop travel agency and airline ads on my phone  screen.  That was downright creepy.  Something had to be done, so I started my  investigation.  First things first: I learned that advertisers  follow you everywhere.  Literally.  For example, if you pass by, say, a bank,  you'll most likely soon get a targeted ad  of this same bank and probably even with this  same address.  This happens because companies install special  Wi-Fi routers in their offices that have a  wider range of operation.  When you go about your business, your phone  is busy too: it's constantly scanning the  networks around it, sending signals to every  possible connection point.  So you pass by a bank with a special router  in it, your phone sends its signal, and voila!  The bank has your phone's digital ID!  It's not a huge piece of info, nothing personal  can be stolen from you, but that's still  enough to send you targeted ads.  The good thing here is that only larger companies  can afford such a method of targeting the  cost of equipment along with the price tag  on the ad itself is too high for smaller businesses.  But still, it's unsettling to know that  your own phone gives away your location to  anyone who asks.  Traitor.  On a broader scale, advertisers may use geo  tags to target you.  These tags are basically points on the map,  and when you happen to be within a certain  distance from one of these points, you start  getting specific ads.  And it's even easier to get to you personally  if you use public Wi-Fi networks.  When you connect to Wi-Fi on the public transport,  you voluntarily give away information about  yourself and where you're heading, so ads  on your phone will adjust themselves and give  you places along your route.  Another thing you should be wary of is the  so-called "matching".  Like everyone else, I'm using different  apps on my phone, and I admit, I never really  read the end user agreement.  Who does?  But perhaps I should start paying more attention  to it.  The thing is, apps often collect your offline  data and send it to advertisers.  The best example I can think of is a fitness  tracker.  You allow this device or app access to your  phone, and it begins doing its job immediately.  Things like your heart rate, the distance  you covered on this or that day  pretty  sensitive stuff, if you ask me, all this  goes to some third party, and you gave your  express permission for that.  So, I mentioned matching  here's where  it comes into play.  When an app you've given permissions to  sends your info to advertisers, it's matched  with the offers they can throw at you and  you in particular.  Let's say you like to run in a certain park,  and there’s a new apartment building somewhere  nearby.  Most likely you'll start receiving ads urging  you to buy an apartment by that exact address.  Your tracker has just betrayed you it's  sent your GPS data to advertisers, and their  system matched your favorite location with  an offer from a company in their database.  In a way, it's even better than geo tagging  because it's more personalized.  But if you're like me, it'll just annoy  you all the more for that.  Okay, I've covered almost everything, and  now the big one's coming.  Remember my story about the pan and then the  business trip?  Well, I was shocked to find out that my phone  really is listening to me.  And yours too!  If you have a smartphone and use any social  media at all, you're already trapped.  You see, social media apps require access  to many of your phone's functions, including  your microphone.  That makes sense: if you want to make stories  or videos with sound, you'll need the app  to hear you.  But by giving this permission, you automatically  let it listen to you even when you don't  intend to record anything.  This is not some speculation, mind you.  During my investigation, I've stumbled upon  an article by Sam Nichols, a freelance journalist,  who was concerned about the same thing I was.  And he managed to get to the bottom of it.  In short, he learned that social media apps  have verbal triggers, or voice commands, that  activate them to record you and then send  the things you say to advertisers.  The simplest parallel here is Google or iOS:  they start listening to you when you say OK  Google or Hey Siri out loud.  With social media, though, no one really knows  what their triggers are and how many there  are of them out there.  To prove this theory, Nichols conducted an  experiment and started saying random things  to his phone that could potentially be triggers.  He did that for 5 days, and then looked closely  whether his feed had changed namely, the  sponsored posts.  I can't imagine how taken aback he was when  he saw that all the ads switched to something  related to what he had been saying to the  phone.  I mean, he'd said things like â€Å“I need  a new T-shirt” or I'm thinking of going  back to uni, and literally the next day  his feed presented him with clothing store  ads and posts about courses at different universities.  I don't know about you, but for me this  discovery was really disturbing.  Now it all made sense, the pan and the airplane  tickets. my social media apps simply recorded  me saying those things and sold them to some  advertiser.  I know there are methods to protect myself  from such occurrences, but unfortunately there's  no foolproof way to fully exclude targeted  ads from my life.  But on the bright side, this collection of  data is more or less innocent (well, unless  you focus your attention on apps secretly  spying on your conversations).  The only third parties receiving your info  are advertisers, and there's nothing too  personal in there.  The things you say are anonymized, which means  they can't be traced back to you.  Your words become a code that is sent to the  servers.  So no one really knows it was you who said  this or that thing.  The system just finds the tracks your phone  has left and uses them for its own benefit.  I can totally relate to you, though, if you  still think its creepy.  Okay, in conclusion to my story here, like  I said, there are ways to protect yourself  if you don't want ads to go barging into  your personal space.  Most important of them all is a VPN, or virtual  private network.  It's a perfectly legal means to hide your  presence in the web and prevent others from  snooping around in your private business online.  Getting a VPN is basically like purchasing  your own parking spot on the Internet: whatever  the trouble, you always have a safe place  to return to.  Advertisers won't be able to track your  actions, so highly targeted ads will be out  of the question.  Also, if you want to turn ads off completely,  there's legal ad blocking software and browser  extensions as well.  They're no magic bullets, of course, and  some information will still get through, but  you'll certainly see much less ads than  you used to.  Well, I hope my investigation has been of  some use to you!  Do you have any more practical advice on how  to get rid of annoying ads?  Let me know down in the comments!  If you learned something new today, share it with a friend.  But “ hey! “ don't go anywhere just  yet!  We have many cool posts for you check out.

You Stir the Sugar In a Wrong Way All Your Life

Hey, guys! I bet you’re all well-mannered people. But do you always follow the rules of etiquette in the right way? It’s not only members of the Royal family that have to watch themselves in public. Here’s a short list of etiquette rules that you might be breaking every day and not even notice.
 1. “Bless You!” It’s a common mistake to wish good health on a person who’s sneezing. If it happens in a family circle or among close friends, it’s okay. But if you’re, let’s say, on a business meeting trying to buy another prospective company, and somebody suddenly sneezes, it’s better not to say “Bless you!”, but to pretend as if you noticed nothing. In some special cases, it can be appropriate to offer a tissue, but that’d be it.
 2. Proper hand to use. Once again, when somebody sneezes or coughs, he or she usually covers their face with their hand. It’s normally the right one. But that’s actually a mistake. Why? The answer is simple. Your right hand is considered “social” because when we greet a person we stretch out this hand. And when you cover your mouth with it while coughing, it gets covered in germs which later happily move to people who come into contact with you. This means that ignoring this rule helps microbes and bacteria take over the world and rule it. Just joking! Here’s one more thing about hands. Did you know that the etiquette specialists have identified even the proper way to carry your bag? It turns out that you should carry it on your left arm or shoulder, so that your right hand is free for handshakes.
 3. Gym Etiquette. Yep! That’s right! There are ways to stay polite even in spaces where everybody works out. You already know you should keep a towel with you to wipe up your sweat. But did you know that it'd also be good etiquette to re-set weight machines at lower settings when you're finished using them? That way, the next person who uses the equipment won't injure themselves trying to lift a weight that's too heavy. And, maybe you’ll also keep them safe from being jealous of the fact that you’re way stronger.
4. When it comes to business etiquette, a common mistake is made when we introduce others. Here's the proper way to make introductions: Say the person's first name or Doctor, if appropriate, and introduce everybody present, starting from the highest rank to the lowest one. Like, “This is Dr. Jones, his associate Dr. Paul and their assistant John.”
5. Table etiquette. Yep, you’re right. Restaurants and fancy dinners are one of the most common situations where you definitely need to practice. So it’s important not only to be able to distinguish the salad fork from the desert one, but also to know how to use them properly. Oh, get ready! It’s a lot to take in. First of all, remember to always enter your seat from the right side and never shake someone's hand while seated. You should be passing food around the table in a counterclockwise direction, or to the right. This allows a sense of order when food is being passed, so that no one has one dish coming from the right and another from the left. There’s an exception though: if someone only a few places away from you on your left asks for something to be passed, go ahead and pass it to the left. I know that everyone knows how to use a fork and knife. But here’s a little reminder: when you’re pausing during your meal, put your fork on the left side of the plate, teeth down, and the knife on the right, with the blade turned to your plate. If you put your silverware on your plate parallel to each other, the waiter will think that you’re done with your meal and take it away, even if the plate is still half full. Don’t put the soup spoon on a tablecloth or napkin. Just leave it in the plate when you’re finished. And here’s an interesting tip for you about broth. If it’s served in a cup with one handle, you can drink it like tea. If the cup has two handles, you’ll need to use a spoon. For spaghetti and pasta, you’ll need both a fork and a spoon at the same time. Gather the spaghetti with the fork in your right hand and separate it from the rest of the dish with the spoon in your left. When it comes to the tea, make sure that when you stir sugar in the cup, you’re not too noisy with the spoon. But here’s another secret for you: move the spoon but back and forth, like a small pendulum, instead of a circular motion. This not only allows the sugar to dissolve better, but also helps you avoid rattling on the sides of the teacup. Phew! And these are only a few guidelines among many, which, to my mind, are necessary to be aware of. Now let’s have some more fun. Do you like traveling? To me, getting away is an essential part of every year. And just like me, a lot of people plan their vacations carefully. But it’s important not only to learn about perfect places to take photos for your Instagram, but also to be aware of some basic rules to avoid embarrassment in public, or worse: jail time!. Here’s a short list of dos and don’ts for you to remember when you’re far from home. Grab popcorn and enjoy! While traveling to South Korea, be aware of their respect towards the elder people. This is a national treat there. When one of your elders offers you a drink, the proper etiquette is to receive it with both hands, and then turn your head away as you take your first sip. By doing so, you not only show your respect to their culture, but also please your Korean friends with your knowledge of their customs. If you’re traveling to Greece, Turkey, Montenegro or Egypt, to name a few, please note that the plumbing may not be designed for flushing toilet paper. So, restrooms will have special trash cans to throw out used TP instead. Failure to heed this bit of toilet etiquette could lead to clogs and even floods. While in, let’s say, Italy, it’s normal to wave your hands back and forth while speaking, but be more careful with gestures in the Middle East. For example, if you suddenly get lost in Egypt and don’t know the language, try to avoid gesturing with your hands too much. Something as innocent as a ”thumbs up” can actually be very offensive there. Now let’s move to Europe! My first tip would be: turn down the volume. This may surprise you, but for the majority of European countries, it’s more common for people to use their library voice. Just try to imagine how a loud voice would boom in the cathedrals, museums, and cozy restaurants of Europe. Greet shopkeepers when you enter a store, and say goodbye when you leave. It’s pretty rude to not acknowledge them. Plus, the greeting gives you a chance to strike up a conversation. Chatting with a shopkeeper could lead to any number of wonderful discoveries, such as the best gelato nearby, and it can just be fun! In some countries, like France, for instance, hugging can be considered more intimate than kissing. Instead, when you greet someone you’re not that close to, be prepared to shake hands or kiss them. Yep, no kidding! To greet someone there, kiss them twice - once on each cheek. Or in some regions, even more. Along with the no-hug rule, you also should never bring your host chrysanthemums. No matter how beautiful these flowers might seem to you, in this country they’re associated with funerals. In Italy, while it’s still generally considered polite to let a woman to go through the door first, that rule goes away when entering a restaurant. Traditionally, by heading in first, the man will take care of talking to the host and getting a table. By the way, treat your server like a professional, and never gesture, snap your fingers, or do anything else that might make them seem beneath you. Actually, that applies to any part of the world. Okay, I’m done for now. Hopefully, adding these pieces of advice to your armory will definitely prevent you from winding up with egg on your face and leave a good impression no matter where you apply them – during a business meeting, traveling abroad or trying to impress your soul mate’s folks. And now it’s high time to ask what point of today’s list was the most surprising for you? Or, maybe you’re a master of etiquette and follow all these rules already? Let me know down in the comments! If you learned something new today, then share it with a friend. But – hey! – don’t go anywhere just yet! We have over many posts for you.

12 Pros Share Facts That Almost Nobody Knows About

There's something here, I'm sure you're dying.    know: Do you know how to dye your black hair?    blond?    Look, I told you.    How about if the locks of the house can guarantee your safety,    or are they useless?    Are detectives naturally good at telling the    The truth of the lies, or are they easily deceived?    These questions can only be answered by the    pros.    Fortunately, they are online only    like everyone else, and are ready to    Share what they know with you!

1) Dangerous lifeboats.    The sailors say that lifeboat drills are more    Dangerous than any other type of marine incident.    Unfortunately, it is true.    It seems that there is a malfunction of the ship    that appears more often than any other, and    It is the breaking of the launch of the lifeboat.    mechanism.    It is not uncommon for a boat to find a    empty lifeboat that literally just fell off    Some other ship in the middle of the sea.    Imagine the problem of this type of dysfunction.    It would cause in an emergency.    Good thing it's relatively rare.

2) The bigger the coffee, the less coffee.    is.    The cafeteria staff wants you to know that    When you're trying to get that extra caffeine    kick in the morning - a big latte is not    what are you looking for    Actually, the bigger the drink, the more    It has milk, not coffee.    And for that reason, most of the coffee shops actually    Spend more money in milk than in coffee.    Only the iced coffee gets a third drink of    Pure coffee, keeping in mind that ice.    Eventually the drink will melt and dilute.    All other beverage sizes get only two injections.    And in general, if you only want caffeine.    of your coffee - a small espresso is the    The best option every time.

  3) Watching a movie with an entire orchestra.    Orchestra conductor recording soundtracks    For a movie they are more dependent on movies.    themselves that in the scores.    They have him playing right in front of them.    in a small monitor, providing everything you need    information about pauses, rhythm and    Intensity of music.    More than that, the movie is also playing.    Behind the driver's back, so the whole set.    The orchestra can see it.    Most drivers also work in tandem.    with the film directors to know exactly how the    The music must be felt in one scene or another.

 4) If damaged, the elevator will not fall,    it will rise in its place.    This will happen in some cases due to    The counterweights, pulling an elevator car.    in case of emergency.    An elevator could fall, but it is highly    unlikely.    For an elevator to fall, it would not be necessary    one, but three cables extremely resistant to    break.    Each of those cables can carry a 3 and    a half-ton weight; so let's say I do not    logically I see it happen.    But even if I could, the automatic speed    sensor would activate security interruptions around    The cables to stop it.    And even if those security measures are not    enough, the elevator shaft itself would be    Quite efficient in minimizing risk.    An elevator, as it goes down, creates a huge    Layer of pressurized air under the cabin.    That will stop the fall.    And finally, the lower part of the shaft is always    Equipped with some kind of cushioning.    To soften a possible impact.    So you really have little to worry about when    using an elevator!    Unless someone backs out.

5) Cybersecurity problems.    You know how it usually goes: you have to change.    your passwords in any work account every    90 days.    But IT specialists do not really see a    reason to do that; not only will not stop    a hacker, but this practice is also possibly    Damage to security.    Each new password is often only a slight    modification of the previous one; (if I    do that) - almost nobody comes with    Something original every three months.    The main objective of improving information security.    for companies it is simply to make each password    difficult and unique in the first place, and    have some kind of multi-step authorization    process.

6) Your body is doing a lot more work than    You believe    We all know how busy our body is, but the    secret that a shared oncologist was alone    on another level    The thing is that your body produces innumerable.    New cells every day and some of those cells.    They are not working properly.    Further down the line, those cells are more    That capable of becoming a tumor.    The reason why it does not happen is our    immune system.    He is constantly looking for all the errors.    In cell development, and eliminate the bad.    The cells before they become a source of problems.    Well done, immune system, keep it up.    work!

7) Home security is not so safe, oh, the  The grammar police is not so sure.  My mistake.  I'm not sure if this came from a thief  or a security specialist, but there is a  The man who claims your safes and locks are useless.  No matter how safe you think your home is,  your savings and all the other valuables are not  protected from expert thieves.  This is true and false.  The point is that it is only a matter of how.  qualified and technologically inclined this  person is  But on the other hand, it is also a question.  of priorities.  There is absolutely no reason for a thief  risk getting into trouble if a  The home has good security.  And an average, the local sneak will not be skillful  Enough to enter.  So, really, there's no such thing as  An unbreakable block, but a good block is intimidating.  enough to discourage most thieves.

 8) People do not usually ask for help when  they are drowning  A lifesaver shared his story on the Internet:  rescued a child who was drowning only one foot  away from a group of other people.  They did not notice the boy's anguish.  because he was completely silent.  I was too scared and tired to ask for help.  Another thing that people often forget is that  The biggest problem with drowning  You know, apart from dying, it's that you're  Fighting with the water for each breath.  Not everyone knows how to keep breathing enough.  to be able to scream.  The work of lifeguards is not just being good.  When swimming and giving first aid.  They are always on guard because not all  Who is drowning may attract attention.  for themselves.

 9) There are no planes that work perfectly.  absolutely.  This confession came from the pilot of a commercial.  Planes, and it seems he's right,  although the situation is not as dramatic as  it sounds.  Imagine how complicated a machine is.  An airplane is, and how many flights is an airplane.  Do you follow along in your service?  It is statistically impossible for one  be in perfect shape in every way.  And still, every plane is going through a  Checking all systems on a regular basis.  If you need some maintenance, get it.  No airline wants a poorly assigned airplane  to a flight!  Most problems in an average plane are  so minor, they would not cause any problem.

 10) If you are born with dark hair, it is  Better stay like this.  Every professional hairdresser knows that.  Blonde hair can be dyed brown or black with  No problem.  But the other way around, not so much.  It's never an easy process, and it often takes  Several visits to the hairdresser.  It does not help that the process is tortuous.  for your hair  You will definitely lose your healthy aspect.  at the end of it.  So, the next time you see a celebrity,  From black hair to blond hair at night, you can  Suppose you are probably wearing a wig.  And it's definitely for the best.

11) People are bad at detecting lies.  Psychologists say that there is a test that  helps to identify how good a person is in  detecting lies.  Most people say it's hard to fool them before  going through it  But in the end, it seems that they are  as bad as everyone else.  The most disturbing part of this is that  even when a proven person knows the person  Who will be telling lies or true facts to  they still can not tell if they are  wasting time.  And besides, experienced detectives are  So bad at detecting liars as newbies.  I can not believe that the television programs have lied to me for so long.  long!

 12) Joint cracking does not cause arthritis  To be fair, the cracking sound you get from  Your joints do not usually mean anything.  Harmful at all.  And when people say that without cracking,  they feel less mobile - they are saying  the truth!  The sound you hear is just bubbles  of carbon dioxide that are accumulating.  In joints over time, and reduce their mobility.  When the joint is pulled or bent, these bubbles  are released and removed from the joint with  A pop, facilitating it and making it more mobile.  again.  Well, that was fun, we're going to paste everything  Fingers on our cheeks and make some pops.  sounds ..  Is not that funny?  All right, let's be serious again here.  Ah hem.  Is there anything special about your professional?  Field that you can share with people?  Let me know below in the comments!  If today you learned something new, then share it with a friend.  But, hey! The most Expensive animal in the world

Anyone with a pet  can tell you that animals aren't cheap.  All animals cost money, but  some of them cost crazy money.  From albino crocodiles, to  half a million dollar dogs,  here are the 10 most expensive  animals in the world.

- Amazing!
 Number 10: Tibetan Mastiff.
Dogs are a man's best friend  and are priced accordingly.  Pedigree breeds have long  been expensive purchases,  but the Tibetan Mastiff, which sells  for an average price of  $500,000, takes the biscuit,  if you'll excuse the pun.  In fairness, the Tibetan Mastiff  has a lot to recommend it.  Amongst the biggest dogs alive,  the Tibetan Mastiff is so loyal  it was traditionally used to protect  flocks of farm animals from predators  and took the duty pretty seriously,  given the reported cases of  Tibetan Mastiffs killing tigers.  That's why they are highly prized in China  where they have a very  strong cultural heritage.  The market for mastiffs  in china is so large that  - - get this -- it's estimated to generate  around 250 to 300 million  U.S. dollars a year.  To put that in perspective, that's a tenth  of the Chinese music industry,  which generates an estimated $33,000,000.  Then there's Sir Lancelot  Encoreand and Cap the Sheepdog,  which deserve a mention in  the expensive dogs category.  Sir Lancelot looks like  a pretty average dog  but the Encore in his name  alludes to the irregularity  that prices him at $155,000.  That's what his owners  had to pay to clone a dog  they were so fond of they  could only replace him  with an exact replica.  Cap the Sheepdog was a comparative steal  at a mere $16,000 and was priced purely  on the strength of his ability.  According to his breeder,  the Northern Irish  collie "is a special dog  "with genuine power and has  a calming effect on sheep."  It's fair to say that today,  prices of dogs have gone through the woof!
Number 9 : Green Monkey.
How can a monkey cost $16  million you might say?  The answer is it can't.  Green Monkey is a horse and,  as his price tag suggests,  no ordinary horse.  Descended from prize-winning  racehorse stock,  Green Monkey became the subject  of a ferocious bidding war  in 2006 that ultimately drove  his price up to $16,000,000.  Given that he was descended  from Kentucky Derby champions,  bidders assumed that  Green Monkey would became  a lucrative race-winner himself,  but the horse never lived up  to expectations on the track,  failing to win a single  race of significance. Oops.  Then there are Arabian horses, which,  at a mere $100,000 a pop, you  might consider a safer bet.  Considered by many to be  the most regal horse around,  Arabian horses are known for  their beauty and friendliness  and are one of the oldest  known breeds of horses.  A royal lineage amounts to a royal price.
Number 8: Miss Missy.
Cows aren't known for their intelligence  and it might be just as well  they aren't quick on the uptake.  They'd watch humans fawning  over horses in the next field,  brushing their tails and  galloping them around,  and wonder why the only time  they get any individual attention is  when they're shipped to the abattoir.  Some cows get the attention they deserve  and no cow has had the  same level of attention  as Miss Missy, a Holstein Cow  of such prize-winning beauty.  She fetched $1.2 million at auction.  Miss Missy may not have a great name,  but at least she has a name - you know,  as opposed to only a tag  bolted through her ear  with a processing number to identify her.  In 2009, she even added a  distinction to her name.  She is now Miss Missy, 2009  Western Fall National Show  North America's Grand Champion.  If only all cows could  enjoy such a distinction.
 Number 7: Stag Beetle.
No one, but no one, you might say,  would pay any significant  amount of money for an insect.  In fact, if you heard someone  say they'd shelled out  a substantial amount of cash  in relation to an insect,  you'd assume they were  paying pest controllers  to come and gas them.  Stag beetles, however,  are no ordinary insect.  Their trademark antlers  and impressive scale -  between two to three inches -  have proven to be of such  interest to collectors  that some lunatic -  sorry, beetle enthusiast -  paid the princely sum of $89,000  to purchase a stag beetle.  Let's hope it never  escaped from its enclosure.  Imagine feeling that unique  combination of crunch and squish  beneath your shoes and realizing  you had 100 grand worth of  dead beetle on your sole.
 Number 6: Palm Cockatoo
.  Birds have plenty of fans.  Given the popularity of  bird watching worldwide,  it's perhaps not too much of a surprise  that people are willing  to shell out thousands  for some of the most  colorful birds around.  The palm cockatoo is the  world's most valuable bird  - - no mean achievement  given that there are  around 10,000 types of birds in the world.  The cockatoo's curved beak, large crest  and the distinctive red mark on its head  are among the features that earn it  an average price of $16,000  and make it such a  treasure for enthusiasts.  There's the Hyacinth Macawalso,  which also has its admirers.  The world's biggest flying parrot attracts  an average price of $14,000  and has a beak so strong it  can crack coconut shells.  Perhaps best to admire it  from a safe distance then.  Toucan's don't do too  badly in the market either.  Their beautiful, multi-coloured beaks,  infused with the tropical  splendor of the jungle,  help them fetch prices of up to $8,000.
Number 5: De Brazza's Monkey.
De Brazza's Monkey, also  known as swamp monkeys,  are curious looking characters.  A snowy, Santa Claus beard dominates  the lower part of their face.  They've also got a quiff  that crowns their head,  which wouldn't look out of  place in a hair gel commercial.  The monkeys can be found in  the wetlands of Central Africa,  if you're good at hide and seek, that is.  These monkeys are one of the most  elusive simians around and  rarely venture out of cover.  Perhaps that's why they cost  between seven and 10 thousand dollars.  Chimpanzee's are even more expensive.  You can expect to shell  out more than $60,000  for an animal that shares  98% of its DNA with humans,  but be wary of joining  those who think that  genetic affinity amounts to  the guarantee of a good pet --  there are numerous reported cases  of chimps savagely attacking their owners.
 Number 4: White Lion Cubs.
Lions are known as the  kings of the animal world,  so you'd expect them  to cost a pretty penny.  If you'd like to own a white lions,  the rarest and most beautiful lions around  (there are only 300 in the whole world)  so obviously you can  expect to pay even more.  White lion cubs are worth an  estimated $140,000 dollars.  Many will question why  you'd want to own something  that will grow up and try to eat you,  but they obviously haven't seen  pictures of white lion cubs.  Is there anything cuter?  If you're feeling more sensible  and still have 50 grand to spare,  why not plump for a Savannah cat  to fulfil your need for feline company?  Often compared to dogs  due to their friendliness,  Savannah cats should make  for a less dangerous pet.  There are also Ashera cats  with the price to match.  $15,000 to $100,000 is a typical price  you'd pay for one of these.  Let's hope you get the  affection you've paid for.
Number 3: Pandas.
Pandas are the poster child  for endangered species worldwide.  Looking at their big wide  eyes and cuddly toy fur  would make anyone lament  humankind's destructive impact  on animal habitats, even though  panda numbers are partially  threatened because  they can't be bothered having sex.  Pandas are so valuable China  have been known to use them  as sweeteners for trade deals.  There you were thinking China  was the fastest-growing  economy in the world  due to its booming population  and ability to manufacture products.  Actually, they're raking in the  bucks by renting out pandas.  Worldwide zoos pay millions  a year to rent pandas.  San Diego Zoo alone has paid $46,000,000  for pandas since 1996.  That equates to over half a million a year  to rend out a pair of pandas.  Perhaps pandas will be floated  on the stock market next.
 Number 2: Texel rams.
Herd animals rarely get  the attention they deserve.  Sheep, like cows, spend  most of their life crowded  into a field, left to get  on with the serious business  of eating as much grass as it takes  to get fat enough for slaughter.  Some sheep are so special, however,  that they can't help but stand out.  Deveronvale Perfection, a texel ram,  fetched almost £250,000 in 2009  when he was purchased by  Scottish farmer Jimmy Douglas  at an auction in Lanark.  Remarkably, it's been suggested that  Douglas will turn a  profit on the transaction.  John Yates of the Texel Sheep  Society pointed out that  a texel ram called Tophill Joe  had earned £1,000,000 in stud fees.  "A lot of people see these  animals as lamb chops,"  Yates said, "but these flocks are  "at the top of the genetic pile.  "This was the elite  animal that stood out."
Number 1: Albino Reptiles.
People seem to have a  thing for albino reptiles.  For example a white, albino snake  with yellow scales and red eyes.  No, $40,000 isn't how  much you'd pay someone  to keep the lavender albino ball python  as far away from you as possible,  it's how much people are  prepared to pay for rare snakes  that appear as a result  of recessive genes.  Then there are albino crocodiles.  Crocodiles are pretty  chilling at the best of times,  those primeval eyes rising above the water  like periscopes to pick out their prey,  but pale crocs are even more terrifying.  If someone were to tell  you that Kim Kardashian  and Victoria Beckham have a keen interest  in albino crocodiles, you'd probably think  they'd lost their mind,  but both celebrities have  shelled out around $100,000  for the privilege of getting  close to albino crocodiles.  Fashion brand Hermes  breed albino crocodiles  for a very specific purpose  - making diamond encrusted  crocodile skin handbags  that sell for huge prices.  The record to date is a sale for £294,000  for a handbag, described by the  auction house Christie's as,  "the most desirable handbag in existence."  All of this seems a little  unfair on albino crocodiles.  Perhaps if Victoria  Beckham, Kim Kardashian,  and all the rest of them  want to use an animal's skin  to carry their make-up around,  they should do the dirty work themselves  and take up croc wrestling.  There's a reality show  that would make a mark.  How much would you be prepared to pay  to own one of the animals in this post?  Let me know in the comments  section down below.  And if you enjoyed this post,  make sure to subscribe for future posts.

Top 10 things palm reading says about your personality

It's amazing to think that the ancient practice of palmistry can tell us who you are as a person and what your life will be like. And whether you believe in it or not it's an interesting practice that's persisted for years that some insist is accurate. Personality, relationships, health, career, travel, none of these can escape the eye of a palm reader, as I take you through a look at 10 Things Your Palm Says About You. Keep in mind to read the lines on the hand you write with first because that is your dominant hand. - Amazing! - [Narrator] Number 10. You have great attention to detail. Palm reading is not all about the lines on the palm. You may not be aware that the size and positioning of your fingers has a large role in palmistry, too. The length of your fingers is considered to be relative to the palm and therefore we can tell if they are average, short, or long. If your longest finger is at least as long as your palm then your fingers are considered long. You see, on an average, the longest finger is only about 7/8 the size of the palm. Long fingers show you have incredible attention to detail. This is interesting because it also says you're a bad planner. You're love of detail means you like to analyze details of events, to death, so that you'd understand them inside out. But before taking any action, funnily enough, there are more long fingered women than men in the world. Number nine, you have poor health. You can gain an understanding of your health by looking at both the health and life lines. The health line runs from the Mount of Mercury, below the little finger down to the base of the palm. If you don't have a health line, don't despair. This is great news, because it means you will have a lifetime of good health. Similarly, you have a prominent and clear life line. This indicates a life of vitality, strength, and immunity. If you do have a health line you can learn about what your health issues might be. A health line, rising from the life line is a very bad sign. Any contact between the health and life lines indicate fragility of health. If the health line crosses the life line this shows the presence of genetic diseases. A health line which stops when it reaches your heart line shows a likelihood for heart problems. If your health line is chained, you will be plagued by a series of health issues related to the bladder, liver, or stomach. Scary stuff! Number eight, you are self centered and ruthless. The heart line tells us about the operation and condition of the heart. It doesn't have a typical starting or ending position as this greatly varies for the individual. A clear and unbroken heart line which forks at the end is a sign that you are a good person, warm hearted, and with a life full of love. There's no chance of faking it here though. Because we can tell if you are self centered and ruthless at your core. You see, a short or entirely absent heart line shows us these negative qualities. You are likely to have a rocky road to love and often end up alone because of your attitude to others. A line that curves downward also shows a life of difficult relationships and that you have a character that can be difficult to like. Number seven, you care about your family deeply. The line around the base of your thumb is called the family and loyalty ring. The deeper and clearer the line, the stronger is your connection to family and the importance they have in your life. If you have two family rings you must have two families, whether by adoption or by second marriage. Any breaks in the ring show periods of family trouble. A longer index finger than the ringer finger also indicates strong ties to family. This is believed to represent the amount of energy your parents put into raising you. If you have a longer forefinger, chances are you will make a great parent as well. The Venus Mount is the padding at the ball of the thumb and is named for the goddess of love. A good amount of padding, which is soft to the touch but not puffy is another sign that you have time and interest for your family. Because it shows you have enough energy to be shared around. Number six, you will have setbacks in life. The lifeline generally curves from just above the thumb to either the Mount of Venus or the Mount of Luna, which sits below the little finger. If your life line is chained, you will be plagued by misfortune. Chains over sections of the line indicate you're experiencing shocks in those periods. Chains can also indicate you suffering heartbreak and illness. You're prone to letting stress interfere and your life is sorely affected. You are similarly positioned if your lifeline is laddered with crossbars. The Sun Line can also tell of setbacks. The sun line is Line of Apollo and can be considered the success line. The line, ideally, runs from the Mount of Moon to under the ring finger. However, if the line only runs to the center of the palm your success has gone downhill as you near middle age. A broken sun line is a sign of career frustrations and setbacks. A wavy line indicates it is your lack of confidence which is interfering with your career and causing you problems. Number five, you are impatient and the life of the party. The shape of your hands can say a lot about who you are. If you have spatulate hands, you're a fun and overly social person with a zest for life. You'll know you have spatulate hands if they resemble the cooking utensil of the similar name. They're very wide at their base, appear flattened, and sturdy, with elongated fingers. You'll also have a small thumb. Having spatulate hands means you'll have a keen interest in learning about anything new and an excitable energy about you. For this reason, they're also referred to as active hands because you never stop. On the down side, you can be impatient and often suffer from feeling unsettled. As a fearless and curious person you're best suited to a career as an explorer, astronaut, or engineer. Number four, you are imaginative and unique. Having a longer ring finger than index finger is a sign of innate creativity. Your creativity is even stronger if your ring finger is wider. The ring finger is governed by Apollo, signifying a love of beauty and artistic flair. But you're also result oriented. So it's important to complete what you start in order to have satisfaction. Associated with creativity is mental attitude which is represented by the head line. If the head line stoops toward the Mount of Moon this shows you have significant power of the imagination. So long as the drooping head line is not afflicted by features such as crosses or islands, the imagination is a positive force for you. You may even have an affinity for writing. It's important for you to surround yourself with people who appreciate your creativity. It will benefit your happiness and help others view the world through your eyes. Number three, you will have great career prosperity. The fate line or destiny line reflects how you will be influenced by the world around you. A good fate line begins at the base of the palm and works upwards in a straight line to the Mount of Saturn at the base of the middle finger.
If you don't have a fate line this can mean your working life will be eventful or even one of poverty. But if you have a deep fate line that is unbroken you will earn a good income and enjoy success in your career. If you are lucky enough to have a fate line which branches off in an upper direction this means you will enjoy great success, resulting in an increased income. The fate line can even tell when you may get a promotion. For example, if it branches from the point where it intersects with the head line, you will be 35 years of age when promoted. Something to look forward to, perhaps. Number two, you will live abroad. Contrary to popular belief, the life line doesn't just indicate how long you are going to live. Rather, it tells us what your life will be like and the quality of it. A fork in the life line where the branch over the Mount of Luna is stronger in appearance, shows that you will retire in a far land, from your home. If the line forks off and ends at the Luna Mount and the Neptune Mount next to it, you feel a deep desire to travel the world. The Mount of Luna, also called the Mount of Moon can be a stronger sign of your destiny to travel. If there is a line from the mount, diagonally up to the Mount of Jupiter, you will have a successful journey and go on to have a well renowned career in the place you travel to. Number one, you are connected to the spiritual plane. You might have what it takes to be a talented palm reader. Having a deep clear and curved line of intuition means you have a strong connection to the spiritual plane. This line was common in prophets and is also believed to present in psychic mediums. In general, this line begins near the end of the heart line, at the outer palm and forms either a diagonal or curved line downward. At a basic level it means you easily read others and situations. However, at the upper end of the scale it indicates a connection to the celestial or occult. The downside of having strong intuition is that it can leave you quite vulnerable to experiencing the emotions of others. It's common to not have this line at all. So those who do are quite special. Does your palm reveal anything surprising about you? Let me know in the comments. Also, if you enjoyed this post please subscribe to this website. 101 facts about fortnite

today we're gonna be dropping  something quite familiar to anyone who  survived the year 2018 mind you those  that didn't I'm seeing this post I  hope anyway fortnight may well be the  biggest video game phenomenon with the  21st century beating off other battle  royale games in a battle royale of  battle Royales well for now anyway  but just how successful has this game  become who oh who has sued epic games  and also is this terrible timing  considering that last week  apex legends just came out it may well  be become bigger than fortnight and  that's actually planning our videos way  far ahead asunder sense of service this  time yeah  maybe anyway too much of who the  Russians gonna be answered because I  just answered the third one this time so  hop on the battle bus do a stupid dance  and prepare yourself for 101 facts about  fortnight's yeah let's dab on them  number one fortnight is a video game  number two all this more okay edits you  build forts and shoot people shoot there  are different modes which you can  download separately but always popular  of these is fortnight battle royale  where 100 people drop into a massive map  and must fight to be the sole survivor  number two fortnight was developed by  Epic Games and is currently headed up by  creative director Donald mustard which  is an incredible name that sounds like  it's from cluedo if you're into video  games and don't know epic how is that  possible they made Gears of War the  Unreal Tournament games and the Unreal  Engine number three port 9 was actually  first announced back in 2011 a whole  seven years before it would take off  with this battle royale mode the context  2011 was the Year portal to Dark Souls  and Skyrim some important arts  plant-based botany from born men number  four the battle royale mode we know  today wasn't originally the be-all and  end-all of the series as the game was  originally meant to only be zombie cop  survival which they marketed as  minecraft meets left 4 dead 2 it someone  probably thought silly epic minecraft  already has zombies that a day will  never work but this fake person I just  made up feels really stupid now number 5  so why is it called fortnight I know we  tackle the big questions here on 101  fact well for the zombie survival mode  your character has to build a fort and  survive in it for two weeks  ie a fortnight very clever less clever  now that aspect of the game is no longer  the focus but what can you do it's just  a bit unfortunate  thought you know yeah you got back  number six  fortnight what revealed to the world  that Spike TV game Awards in 2011 where  Cliff Bleszinski described it as a game  that's more about survival than anything  else despite the many many changes the  game went through this phrase still  holds up number seven the game was  supposed to have a creepier Tim Burton  II look to it  when zombie survival was more of a focus  instead they lightened up its aesthetic  to make it look more like Looney Tunes  and the Pixar movies since they wanted  players to enjoy playing in that world  for an extended amount of time and not  be exhausted by it number eight this  co-op survival version of fortnight made  dormant for years with even a small  announcement in 2015 link people know it  be available on Mac if it ever came out  this all changed when fortnight saved  the world it's sort of cooperative  campaign was revealed and launched as  paid early access back in July of 2017  number nine there are plans to make save  the world free-to-play in 2018 much like  its battle royale counterpart but that  has been delayed till 2019 with no  specific release dates if you don't  fancy being a cheapskate and waiting  around its $39.99  whatever that means number 10 fortnight  was the first game to use the Unreal 4  game engine which is a major reason for  its long and troubled development cycle  this is kind of a big deal since there  are dozens of games would utilize it  such as the new Spyro remake crackdown 3  Psychonauts 2 and player unknowns  battleground hmm interesting more on  this pop G character in a minute number  11 fortnight is not only playable on  game consoles and PC but Mobile's as  well Wow so you can play it anywhere  like this guy and this guy and this guy  if it wasn't for the technological  advancements made by the Unreal 4 engine  this would not have been possible number  there are a bunch of differences between  the mobile versions and the full console  and PC editions  Samantha controls a little bit more  streamlined when using only a  touchscreen doors open automatically  there's additional visual cues to pop up  on screen to mitigate the inferior sound  design Anderson I meant playing  comparison to other versions and it has  a massive graphical downgrade but hey  and this is portable baby  number 13 Epic Games and fortnight of 40  percent owned by the world's biggest  games company Chinese conglomerate $0.10  who acquired epic stock way back in 2013  it's si car it seems like bought Lite  wants to drop in every part of the  I guess well domination is its own  victory royale really number fourteen  ten cent have been trying to bring  fortnight to a Chinese audience for the  past few years but the approval of new  video games into China was frozen by the  Chinese government back in

August of  2018 while no one knows the real reason  some speculate it's due to the ccp's  crackdown on video game addiction in  children regardless this move has cost  hem sent millions fortnight is big but  not as big as it could be it permitted  access to the biggest market in the  world number fifteen ten cents bian  wasn't all good news for epic as many  big name stuff the company back in 2012  when the toys for $0.10 first began  these include former Epic Games  president Mike Capps veteran developer  at Epic Games Cliff Bleszinski  and director of Rod Fergusson who went  to work embark infinite as well as the  new gears of war games after Microsoft  purchased the IP number 16 Liz insky who  went on to formed boskie Games has since  accused Epic Games of poaching their  talent to work on fortnight one of those  former employees William McCarroll  denounced these claims by calling them  presumptuous and hurtful since he wants  to be considered a human being and not  some corporate asset Sydney Cliff  Bleszinski more like twist clothes boss  key because their game wasn't selling  ski that's actually true what  number 17 the battle royale mode for  fortnight was conceived after epic  developers fell in love with player  unknowns battlegrounds ie pub G which  had been released in March 2017 hoping  to capitalize on the Battle Royale trend  epic release fortnight Battle Royale six  months later number 18 the battle royale  style of the game is directly inspired  by the 2000 Japanese movie classic  battle royale where 42 school children  are sent to an island where the only way  out is to fight each other to death with  only one left standing sure it's  chock-full of child murder but it's  really entertaining child murder and  book night is also full of killing kids  if you think about it okay so that guy  cheated  number 19 despite both fortnight's and  pub G having 100 players dropped into a  map where only one player or team can be  the winner for tonight's set itself  apart with its building mechanic as well  as his colorful aesthetic and polished  gameplay it was also released with a  free-to-play model over pub G's  traditional paid model and so the battle  royale between battle reals battle  royale ie  began number 20 unsurprisingly epics  opportunistic take on their competitors  unique selling points spurred the Korean  trade as a pub G pub cheek or into suing  Epic Games Korea in January 2018 this  lawsuit has since been dropped but  neither side has confirmed why or if  it's ultimate was agreed to spooky  number 21  one reason the pub G fought by copyright  law of war ended could be because $0.10  owned a minority percentage of not just  Epic Games but pub G 2 as recently as  August when t 18 you know what I always  say if you can't beat them join a  Chinese corporate conglomerate aiming to  win a monopoly of Chinese video game  market as the overwhelming power of  globalism it will inevitably swallow  someone laugh you you know what I always  say if you can't beat them join a  Chinese corporate conglomerate aiming to  own a monopoly in Chinese video game  market as the overwhelming power of  globalism but never to please all of us  all I do why say that to be fair number  22 oh probably re on a gun off number 20  day oh yeah you've heard it one of the  reasons fortnight is gained so much  attention is its accessibility for night  is available for example and ps4 Xbox  one switch PC Mac iOS and Android it's  actually harder to avoid than it is to  play number 23 another feature  increasing its accessibility is being  able to play with anyone no matter what  system they're playing on porn I just  featured cross play between console pc  and mobile players since March 2018  number 24  the switch version came out hours after  it was announced at e3 2018 but not  without a bit of drama ps4 users were  being locked out of using their account  on switch edition of the game due to  Sony's policies which also restricted  cross play between ps4 and twitch  entirely this did however get resolved  dr. metric fluff ton of backlash so we  can all get completely destroyed by PC  players together in harmony  number 25 as fortnight blew up in  popularity in the first half of 2018 the  game is since garnered 8.3 million  concurrent players subscriber gold am i  right mother factors I should get one  one facts - what about million subs  hashtag YouTube life hashtag get tilted  number 26 they also have over 200  million players overall which is about  the same population size of Pakistan for  some more context there while the  Warcraft has 100 million registered  accounts and minecraft has 91 million  monthly players trends rise and fall in  popularity but right now it's  fortnight's turn up top until apex  legends that is number 27 despite being  free-to-play fortnight might well be the  most lucrative video game in history  they made more than 1 billion dollars  from in-game purchases alone which is  well it's more money than I can  realistically conceive especially since  it only gained popularity about a year  ago god I could buy a lot of chicken  nitrogen Haribo with us number 28 a big  reason for the game's profit abilities  due to the battle pass if you don't know  how butter pus works while buying it  gives you access to exclusive challenges  and unlocks which rewards you for your  play they change with every season so  not only is there new reasons to keep  playing it also bans a frantic fear of  missing out when it comes to making the  most of your bathroom post purchase  number 29  Myrtle Pass was designed to be the  antithesis of other free to play models  epic games producer Roger column  reference to time play tactics of mobile  games and pay to win loot boxes as a  blueprint for what not to do  turning specifically to how League of  Legends monetizes its content without  damaging the free experience of the game  take the hint EA oh you did oh well I  stand corrected number 30 if you really  really want an unfathomable statistic to  represent how popular fortnight is look  no further than twitch a sport night has  been watched for over 5,000 years worth  of time on the platform in just two  weeks  that's just short of 2.2 million hours  and that stat doesn't even include  YouTube which is insane number 31 this  amount of time is so significant that  media giant such as Netflix consider for  tonight to be its biggest competitor  since they're competing for people's  spare time too rather than other TV  services which aren't doing nearly as  much bangers Netflix are but which do  you prefer in this imaginary competition  that's now apparently happening bot  night or Netflix let me know in this  fancy YouTube power number 32 fortnight  is not just killing the competition but  its own company's property too as its  overnight success resulted in many teams  being moved to develop solely for the  game this inevitably shut down  production on the title Paragon  completely more like powered gone that  pun doesn't work and just saying the  same word twice let's move on number 30  spray well for tonight caused the loss  of Paragon the game will live on in  another form  epic decided to release all the assets  from Paragon on to the unreal  marketplace completely for free that's  12 million dollars of digital assets  usable by anyone in their own projects  with no strings attached  sounds pretty epic to me number 34 are  you sick of us talking about fortnight's  massive success well tough you're on the  wrong video we've got one more fact  about it to fortnight's has won a bunch  of awards including game of the year  2018 at the golden joysticks the game  award for best multiplayer game and most  prestigious of all the Teen Choice Award  for videogame fortnight just oozes  highbrow prestige and everyone knows it  number 35 fortnight in pub Jean might  still dominate the battle realm  landscape but there are plenty of other  games chopping into competition these  include realm royale me neither call of  duty black ops 4 blackout mode and the  latest Challenger apex legends apex  seems to be the biggest threat is it  gained 10 million players and 1 million  concurrent players on its first day will  this fresh meat to be able to keep up  the momentum though only time will tell  number 36 with the riser fortnight also  came Tyler ninja Blevins who was the  first streamer to reach 10 million  followers and is thought to earn more  than five hundred thousand dollars a  month I mean what are we doing here guys  we don't know more than that let's all  go play fortnight no that's not number  Blevins was a professional gamer before  fortnight's he starts a professional  gaming on Halo 3 back in 2009 became a  streamer in 2011 and played h1z1 in pub  G before making the traitorous  - they commenced a fortnight before  before number 38 ninjas ascension -  which royalty hasn't been without  controversy though in one case he said  he wouldn't play with girls on his  stream because it might spark rumors of  him being romantically involved with  women other than his wife this was met  with significant backlash since cutting  off the opportunity to work with the  biggest personality on a huge media  platform for half the population might  just be seeing this problematic no one  could've seen that coming  much like a ninja actually hey wait a  minute number 39 lebens caused more  bother when he falsely accused another  user of screen sniping him a form of  cheating where someone watches someone  stream to work out their location he  went to great lengths trying to get this  YouTube and calling him out to his large  audience and getting on to his direct  content at Epic Games because he  couldn't handle the fact that someone  was watching a stream that's available  to the public  he sounds fun to play with number 40  ninja is a generous fellow when it comes  to dealing out some tips and tricks  though if you want moves like Tyler like  the maroon 5 song he advises would-be  pros to learn the map state coast of the  storms actually won't be flam from  behind and always usual shields if you  have any I mean that last one it's  pretty obvious isn't it your services to  never stay still always be getting  resources or looting gym downtime and of  course practice you're building oh I  forgot to mention yet you can build lots  in this game he also says the young  players to finish their homework before  treating themselves to fortnight's maybe  he's not the worst role model number 41  while some companies don't know what to  do with retina gaming epic games have  decided to throw a buttload of money at  it which tends to work for most thinks  they will provide 100 million dollars to  fund the prize pools in fortnight  competitions that on the face of it  sounds absolutely ridiculous but  considering that the eSports industry  will cross the 1 billion dollar mark in  value in 2019 100 milli is a great  investment considering the potential  growth the meaning all for life despite  the crazy money dump epics first  competitive competition was a bit of a  disaster  latency issues help to eliminate top  players early on only 4 of the promised  10 matches were broadcast and the  gameplay itself turned out to be a  boring camp fest as everyone playing  hope to wait up the competition to  increase their chances of winning the  $250,000 prize money looks like stopping  the competition early made for a short  nights  number 43 every online game has its own  brand of terrible cheaters and fortnight  is no different  epoch is taking the battles to them by  suing two players but the names of mr.  Brue mr. frost spear for up to $150,000  in damages are not too caught up with  the mr. men law but those who don't  sound canon to me number 44 epic is also  sought to solve this by acquiring  anti-cheat company car mu responsible  for the software easy anti cheat their  software has been used in a variety of  online games including rust smite  Dragonball Fighters II paladins and was  already being used in fortnight itself  number 45 in what feels like the  billionth lawsuit involving this game  epic game sued a QA contractor over a  leak which revealed the result of a  season 4 game event if he accused thomas  hanna revealed where the meteor would  hit to a friend in his DMS which he  believed would remain confidential  it did not much like many things in the  ends so Hanna now not only has a huge  company breathing down his neck but he  probably lost a friend too and hey  that's the more hurtful thing here  number 46 founder of Epic Games and  creator of fortnight Tim Sweeney likes  to buy land a ton of land actually the  conservationists own 7,000 acres of  wilderness in North Carolina spending  fifteen million dollars to protect the  land from being bought by power company  and being built on which is well it's  kind of ironic really considering  fortnight is about building things  number 47  you know something has reached the main  string when pop icons get involved in  fortnight is no exception  professional mumbler Drake's a  modern-day Mozart behind hotline bling  join ninja for a charity stream I feel  bad for insulting their H because he did  donate $5,000 so sorry Drizzy number 48  ninja asked rake during the stream if he  would put any fortnight references into  the lyrics of one of his songs  Drake said that he would but only if  Epic Games put in the hotline bling'  dance as an amount  unfortunately that request was from  quite a while ago back in March 2018 and  it's been no news since so stale if  drank without a song would I floss in  your grave you know where it came from  number 49 if you want to know what the  fortnight font is it's Burbank and was  designed by Tali Ming bit of graphic  design knowledge for you there number 50  she can you believe it  this excellent drawing of a chicken  character by an eight-year-old made it  into for tonight as an actual character  with no foul play involved free chicken  comes down for price of one after the  touring is posted to Reddit Internet  strangers on the site helped him develop  and improve the idea before getting it  submitted to epic the developers floated  the idea and made the little boy's  vision a reality  number 51 parent will do many ridiculous  things to make their kids happy and one  of them is apparently hiring  professional Fortnight coaches to school  their kids on how to nab those victory  Royale for themselves here's a tip just  get good well some parents claim it's to  prevent their child from being bullied  at school others hope for their children  to go professional and earn the kind of  money eSports due to its competitors  they can pay up to $30 an hour for a  coach $30 an hour I could save up for a  signed autograph from Jennifer Lawrence  for that kind of money but probably be  just as useful number 52 in what may be  the most mean field crossover of all  time Marvel Studios those absolute blaze  of my life teamed up with epic twit fan  awesome fortnight for a limited time  there was a game-mode which let players  pick up the Infinity Gauntlet and become  planners who had devastating powers and  an intimidating amount of health he can  also dance you could make furnace dance  number 53 their loss isn't the only game  mode to come and go is these limited  time events come in many shapes and  sizes these include the 50 V 50 mode  pretty self-explanatory their steady  storm where the storm doesn't stop  closing in one shot where players have  low health low gravity and sniper  weapons and bare bones which limits the  GUI or GUI or graphical user interface  on screen number 54 would epic make any  of their limited time mode permanent or  who you ask well well Thanos probably  won't return mode such as 50 V 50 do  have the demand for it also add to that  the fact that playground one of the game  modes what's made permanent at the end  of last year if it was possible for  playground why not others number 55 one  of the more unique and weird events to  happen in the game was the first ever  virtual music concert headed up by EDM  artists marshmallow this 10 minutes  concert was played in game at pleasant  park and coincided with a bunch of bible  marshmallow skins and emotes  whoever this Marsh fellow is he's got  incredible business savvy partnering a  four  nights good on you marshy lad number 56  one of the most famous skins in the game  is named the Reaper with the description  vengeance for higher it was a really  difficult skin to get as it required  getting level 100 in season three's  battle paths so anyone seen with it can  be assumed to have put in the hours  it also directly references Keanu Reeves  character John wick the badass gun for  hire with infinity for poppers and  revenge number 57 the game makes plenty  oh wow sorry whoa whoa puberty come back  the game makes plenty of references to  pop culture in their other skins to the  rust Lord Skinner's are not the  star-lord and guns the galaxy the Black  Knight references Monty Python and  shieldmaiden looks a lot like Katheryn  Winnick shield maiden in the TV show  Vikings number 58 there was a player who  managed to grab the name fortnight  winner as they use a handle however they  went 1,000 games in a row without ever  winning which I honestly can empathize  with aim for the stars though but number  59 YouTube rewind 2018 which heavily  featured fortnight and Will Smith making  guttural noises delighted at the sight  of the battle bus is the most disliked  video on the entire platform  it featured ninja a bunch of late night  hosts during fortnight dances because  you know that's what this platform is  about and YouTube is dropping onto an  island I mean it's truly awful number 60  fortnight resurrected an age-old  argument of how video games might  negatively affect children are Garber  heard it all before many see their  children neglecting a school work and  barely leaving the house to play  fortnight as a gaming disorder which is  a proposed condition by the World Health  Organization's in September 2018  despite this vital research still needs  to be done into the phenomenon and it's  only known to affect a small amount of  people professor

Andy sure Bilski from  the Oxford University says that there's  nothing from a psychologists perspective  to be worried about when it comes to  fortnight and that it's popular because  it's free and accessible not because  it's violent which it really isn't  number 61 there are some concerning  cases when it comes to the fortnight  child addiction arguments one case  involved a nine-year-old girl who ended  up wetting herself after playing  fortnight for 10 hours and punched her  dad in the face when he tried to  confiscate the game thankfully she's now  seeking treatment at a clinic for her  problems but it's not every day you hear  about a nine-year-old needing therapy  I've playing too many video games number  62 the supply llama has become an iconic  part of the game but there was some  controversy around the V buck llamas in  the save the world shop as they  resembled loot boxes from other games  the entire country of Belgium rule that  loot boxes are a form of gambling as you  and any kid who are buying them do not  know what the items are in sight this is  bird fortnight to make the llamas show  what's inside them so epic have dodged  some sort of child gambling calamity  number 63 another problem fortnight has  had was in the next book to do with aim  assist if you increased fortnight's FPS  to 240 it increases the effectiveness of  aim assist so much that your crosshairs  will magnetically lock on to the head of  your desired target with aimbot  precision - shame they've patched up  really because it's really the kind of  cheating I need Nintendo 64 fortnight  monopoly exists because Hasbro will not  stop until they've made a monopoly of  literally everything in existence which  actually sounds appropriate considering  the name we've got one coming soon while  I won monopoly long not really but it  comes with fortnight pieces and unique  battle royale rules the Fort Knox  Edition that is so dropping your  monopoly money on property works a  little bit differently this time round  number 65  while some teachers worry about students  playing the game in class others reacted  in a different way a group of students  but their chemistry teacher than if they  could get 6700 retweets on their tweeter  challenge the teacher would have to make  their final test about fortnight's they  got over 30,000 retweets and the teacher  made good on his word turns out those  sport night coaches from before seemed  less stupid now but also those kids  education is gonna suffer as a result  number 66 you can dance if you want to  in fortnight you can leave your friends  behind because your friends don't dance  and if they don't dance then they're no  friends of mine anyway I've got  distracted there but the game features  plenty of unlockable dance taunts many  of which are based on real dancers from  pop culture the default dance is the one  Turk does in scrubs damn kids don't know  scrubs number 67 just hey everything  it's all awful other notable real-life  dancers and moves put into the game as  emotes include the salt bay meme the  best mates dance from marlin web Gangnam  style and take the El is a salt mix  between sports fans and Pennywise his  dance from 2017 it number 68 the story  of orange justice it's not a story the  Jedi would tell you a young boy in an  orange tea  submitted a dance to epic games as part  of their boogie down contest  he lost scumming in 23rd but people on  the internet campaigns that the kid  starts to be put in any way just this  for the orange shirt kid was eventually  served as the dance called orange  justice was put in the game and balance  was restored to the universe number 69  drop me like the bangbus unfortunately  the mother of orange justice kid has  recently decided to sue Epic Games for  their use of the dancers and emote which  is strange since the dance was clearly  submitted for a fortnight competition  the competition rules did explicitly say  though that epic would retain the rights  to the dance and the winner wouldn't be  paid money for the dance it remains to  be seen if justice will be served either  way as the case continues number 70  Epic's trouble was far from over though  is they would receive numerous more  lawsuits concerning the dance emotes in  the game these would come from Milly  Rock the flossing backpack kid Anton  fondue Ruby Arrow who famously played  Carlton banks in The Fresh Prince of  bel-air number 71 the reason why  fortnight's feels comfortable using  these dances is because they are such a  difficult thing to copyright you have to  determine whether the dance is owned by  the dancer or the choreographers or  whether it's a social dance which  everyone can perform or if it's long  enough to be a choreographed routine  rather than the potential building block  to another dance no one wants the site  for the creativity of dance as a whole  certainly not me since new dances are  often amalgamations and involved  versions of all the ones in short and  thank you for listening to my TED talk  there's a reason why fortnight she was  legally comfortable with their seconds  long emotes number 272 the developers of  fortnight paid homage to their  multiplayer shooter history by putting  in a poster in the game depicting the  Unreal Tournament map facing world's  there it is look there number 73 another  poster depicting epics history can be  found displaying the character jazz  jackrabbit released back in the 90s when  wacky cartoon videogame characters were  all the rage number 74 there's an  incredibly rare chance that when  erecting a stone wall don't laugh come  on you'll produce an own bearing wall as  in your wall will have a gnome in it it  does absolutely nothing but hey looks  nice a number 75 a statue made out of  cars and a truck can be found which some  have said is a reference to Optimus  Prime at transformers Fame but that's  wrong it's clearly truckasaurus from The  Simpsons kids these days  number 76 every game begins on what's  known as spawn island as players connect  and wait for the round to begin you can  actually see it from the main map but  it's not designed to be reachable since  it's surrounded by invisible walls this  obstacle was proved you become back in  June 2018 with a shopping cart glitch  but this exploit was swiftly patched  away for now the promised land remains  just out of reach at least after you get  on the battle bus number 77 australian  youtuber marcel trying to rescue a  player stuck at the bottom of a cliff  without any materials to build up but  hilariously murders him by accident with  a golf cart we've all been there epic  games wanting to pay tribute to this  tragic failure of her mission have  placed a tombstone in the game at the  same place the manslaughter occurred  number 78 a kill streak by Elemental  underscore ray a player with a 0.47 kill  ratio ie not that great but probably  better than me has the highest solo kill  streak in the entire game standing at a  ridiculous 48 kills how is that possible  well during the month in a light tone  rocket launch event many planes in the  game built a large ramp to a platform  where they could watch the light show  unfold before them and a mental ray saw  the opportunity here and destroyed the  ramp from underneath causing them to  plummet to their deaths number 79 the  marks are the in-game currency with  which you can buy all the cosmetic items  and luxuries dancers skins you know  anything that makes you look super cool  and fly the V stands for vendor tech  which is a fictional technology company  found in the save the world mode intern  vendor tech is named after the  mysterious doctor vendor Minh turns out  there's a super deep lore and it doesn't  stand for bergeon bucks like the YouTube  comments tell me number 80 it's not only  the kids who were getting in on the port  knight craze as weirdly criminals are  using v bucks to launder money  criminals do this by purchasing v bucks  with stolen credit cards and reselling  them for a discount on the dark web Epic  Games is trying to combat these issues  but experts say they've not done enough  and crime thrives on the platform number  81 the vault or whenever something is  bolted refers to an epic removes items  and features from the game for various  reasons usually because of gameplay  balance while a volatile item may have  been removed from play they may return  at a later stage once it's been tweaked  to work with current gameplay  some of these include the zapper Tron  the crossbow and the jetpack number 82  they used to be two different  types of jump hat a directional one  which sauntered player in a direction  and a vertical jump and which catapults  the player vertically these got  condensed into the belts pad which gives  the player the height with control over  sideways traversal the bounce pad though  eventually got bolted but there's still  the launch pad which is the closest  method of traversal number 83 fortnight  in shoot a new weapon into the fray  called the Infinity Blade on December  the 10th 2018 and then took it out of  the game four days later despite only  dropping once per game the sword was  deemed too powerful but there is still a  chance it could make more of a nerved  appearance in the future number 84  fortnight's now goes through seasons  where various changes happen to the  ever-evolving map and comes with fresh  challenges and skins available until  next season rolls around number 85 with  these seasons also come live events and  vague story developments involving meets  yours interdimensional cubes and zombie  creatures invading and destroying parts  of the island I'm not quite sure what  the stories actually about but I guess  it's cool that it interacts with players  in real time I mean a plot would be nice  but number 86 not all seasons are  created equal though as the first season  only came out with the disappointing 5  obtainable rewards overall 5 this was  when challenges were first introduced oh  so the game was still finding its feet  number 87 season 2 step things up in  December 2017 as they introduced the  battle password tears going up to 70  this was also when the flosser boat came  in and rewarded top tier earners with  the Black Knight armor number 88 season  3 was when the game started to get  really popular so it's a good thing the  season had some great offerings beyond  its superb space theme I mean Wow as  well as hints of an incoming meteor  strike this more it introduced snobby  shores haunted hills and tilted towers  to the map as well as throwing the game  at a bombshell that was explosives into  the fortnight Arsenal number 89  tilted towers is one of the busiest and  most contested areas in fortnight due to  the density of the loot film there and  its vertical environment because it's  volatile nature with such a shake up for  the game its introduction brought  controversy and hope that the incoming  meteor which appeared during season 3  would obliterate it this meets your  eventually destroyed dusty Depot for  season 4 but tilted towers did lose a  three-story building number 90 wild  season 4 brought meteoric destruction a  hub rocks which planted low gravity  jumping it also had a super  boom it introduced new locations such as  the villain there and risky reels as  well as the first vigor in the game the  shopping cart I can finally fulfill my  dream of playing Dale Winton supermarket  sweep in a videogame this one's for you  Dale  number 91 season 4 also featured the  fortnight blockbuster contest which  asked players to make their own  superhero movie using the replay system  the grand prize of $25,000 went to chant  the need for his film prepare for  collision number 92 when the meteors  approach was in-game that destruction  caused didn't happen in real time this  all changed with the rocket launch which  would be fortnight's first live event  again teasing the end of tilted the  rocket fell back to earth and nearly  crashed straight into it only for it to  disappear in amount of interdimensional  rift in space and time  all us players watch the events unfold  with their very own eyes 93 the risks  caused by the rocket would stick around  and grow until the end of season 4 for  season five though players could use  these newly spawned riffs to teleport  around the map they also introduced a  desert biome Paradise Palms circling  storm movement and toys which allow  players to get up there basketballs  beach balls golf balls and tomatoes and  play tomatoes there interactable - much  like the football or soccer balls dotted  around the map number 94 one of these  events interacted with real-life cracks  in time and space formed throughout the  map relocating disappearing iconic  objects and landmarks the der burger  mascot disappeared from atop the fast  food restaurant and a replica of it was  found in the desert in real life this  was confirmed to be a PR stunt by Epic  Games themselves but does that mean real  life is for tonight  number 95 never buy the cube from season  five was mysterious and layered but the  marked in the fortnight subreddit  prevented the word keep from being used  but I mean I have no idea why but anyway  this resulted in the cubing named Kevin  because well Kevin's alright as a name I  guess number 96  season six has all these mysterious  floating islands but all I really care  about is the pets this season brought in  little dog oohs dragons and chameleons  as animated back bling they're purely  hashtag aesthetics of course as  fortnight tries to keep up its  reputation for not being paid to win but  they are cute I can finally be the  Khaleesi I've always dreamed of being  number 97 season 7 is the latest one and  it centers around an icy cold glacial  theme to coincide with the winter period  snowy peaks and frozen lakes come with a  new vehicle in the form of a fighter  plane called the storm wing x4 this adds  a crazy amount of verticality to the  whole map because it's a plane after all  but everyone will definitely know  exactly where you are fair trade-off  really number 98 the gap between season  7 and season 8 is the longest in the  series but epic have finally announced  the start of the new season will roll  out on February 27th we haven't got a  clue what the theme is but we recommend  snooping around the map for hints like  these eggs for example could it be  Easter could it be fire-breathing  dragons that you know are just on your  back who knows oh wait hang on a minute  Game of Thrones that's all in a couple  months maybe it's you know the Battle of  the I can't say that what I'm you  cheaper yeah keep an eye number 99  fortnight creative is the latest mode to  be built where you can build your  heart's content it's basically a more  Minecraft e fortnight mode with the  focus on customizing your own port night  games or building something with friends  ah it's a neat way to lean on the  building aspect of the game rather than  the fighting and I can only imagine how  many body parts have been built and  erected in that mode number 100 storm  incoming as if for tonight wasn't  already everywhere they may well be  releasing a real port night soda  based on the in-game item slurp juice  when the idea was suggested to Donald  mustard a stomach right name on Twitter  he replied with this mm emoji  that's not exactly much to go on but  they did serve the drink at twitchcon in  2018 so maybe they do want to print more  money number 101  will there ever be a new map rather than  an ever-changing one epic say there  could well be but that they aren't  focused on that right now  citing the constant changes they make to  the current one to keep the game fresh  this is due to their ever-growing list  of whack-a-mole problems such as  cheaters and server issues  Never Say Never though so that was 101  fact about fortnight what did you think  did you enjoy it which skin is your  favorite and which emote is your  favorite and are we too late on this is  a pic two legends already taking over  let us know in the comment down below  also good as video one like and  subscribe to 101 facts if you haven't  done so already because it's what all  the cool kids are doing it's cooler than  a boatload of V bucks guys in the  meantime though my god look at these two  videos that on screen now they're both  the pinnacle of 101 'dom and you're  gonna really dig them even moreso than a  mole click on one and I'll see you there  I'll be waiting bye
